Hi Guys!
Thanks for the reply.
Pete the car would jump into gear at low speeds sort of violently, and once it just got stuck in gear I tried to acellerate and it just slowed down finally i had to pull off the road. I had to use the j gate to get home. Had it flashed the problem continued, so I thought it better to address now while under warranty than to make a 4k repair out of my pocket. BuckMR2 GREAT car a real Beauty! I have a ? maybe one of you could help with, looking to up grade the apperance I saw a 350 that was dechromed it looks great I have not seen over here like that I sent Grimreaper a email no response yet. My ? is this a kit you purchase or is it painted, how does one go about doing this I love the look. Any insight would be very helpful.

Thanks

Hi Paul
I went to school in Washington (UK not DC, Haha)
My warranty expires end of next month and you getting a gearbox at only 50k worries me a little bit with mine at 108k, has been running fine though.
First Jag I ever drove was a S3 3.4 from Nenagh in Southern Ireland to Durham,England when my dad took ill over there and I had to go over to drive it back aged 19 (got stopped off Police thinking I was a bit young to be driving such a car when I utilised it for taking my then G/F out in it)...always wanted a Jag since then and now on my 2nd, my 1st being a 3.0 X Type

Hi Paul,

This site is great for specific info for our car, new blood is always very welcome.

A new gearbox in only 50k sounds a bit drastic, did you get any explanation as to why? What were the symptoms? Usually, lumpy gearchanges can be resolved with a quick re-flash of the software and careful 'running-in' for a few miles while the car learns your style.

The S3 XJ6 was my favourite model too before the X350 came out, remember 'The Equalizer'?

Hope you get your car back soon.

Hi my name is Paul and i reside in Washington DC. This looks like a very good site, a lot of great info. I have a 2004 XJR and love it so far this is my 2nd jag, had xj6 series 3 (83) unfortunately it was totaled. I've had the X350 for almost a year has 50k on it and I'm getting a new gearbox put in as we speak while under warranty. I look forward to many post and shearing great information

Happy motoring all!!

I had the same bulb fail in my XJR. I tried to remove the walnut trim but it wouldnt budge, the trim in the X308 is clipped into place and a sharp tug will remove it to access all the intrumentation. The X350 is not so easy!!! I have a friend who works as a menchanic for Jaguar and he told me that the only way to access the clock is to unfasten and move back the centre console. Jaguar at Preston did this job for me and replaced the bulb. The cost was £70. Hope this is useful ... Sean.

How about E-Bay. I have seen them on there a few times.
It should also be possible for your dealer to set up the appropriate radio frequency for your area once you have fitted the unit.

Updates re the issue. it had occurred on several occasions and tend to fix itself after a few days. Finally went to a AV specialist and did a complete check. Issue from the head unit. Cross reference with the HK dealer and this has been a recurring problem and only fix is a new head unit. Quoted HK $ 30000. And also number of units avaliable from Jaguar are far and few. No after market replacement possible as everything is bundled.
