Gentlemen - I have bought a new car: XJ8 4.2 2003, black/creme. Mesh grill, chrome surround, 20" Cremona look-alikes. No monitors in headrests, but side window sunblinds, and rear multimedia unit in armrest. Looks/smells like new. Next week, I will pick it up, as the air suspension compressor will be swapped for a new one.
HURRAH!

Well done, it sounds terrific.
I can't wait to see a picture.

So I picked up the car about a week ago from the dealer. My wife and I decided spontaneously to make a short trip to Italy, so we gave the car a proper run, down to Lago Maggiore, where we spent a week in Cannobio, living on a diet of ice cream, pasta, Piemontese cuisine (especially hare) and light sparkling white wine.
I have to admit that the X350 is the most pleasant car to drive I have ever owned. Although I have sneered at it when it came out and I saw it the first time - today I am a convinced owner.
I have discovered that my car has nearly all options available at that time, including JaguarVoice, full rear/side blinds, rear multimedia unit (except screens), walnut veneer capping for the overhead console. Unfortunately no TV(can that be retrofitted?).
For the overall trip of approx 1400km, the car has returned 10.90l/100 km; and this includes being chased through narrow village roads by Vespas and crazy Italians in souped-up hatchbacks.Impressive. The ride is smooth (although the large wheels make it slightly "sporty"), besides some wind noise the car is very quiet, has more power than I ever could make use of, the seats are the second best I ever sat on (BMW E32 and E38 7 series still #1). WHAT A CAR for the price of a second-hand Golf.
My wife loves it and we will probably upgrade to a S/C LWB with the yellowish contrast-piping leather in 2-3 years. Oh, and complement it with a personal car for myself (Daimler Double Six SIII, AM Vantage v8 or BOTH ahaha).

Nice to hear you are both happy. Having owned both the 4.2 SE and the 4.2 XJR, I can say that when you drive a Supercharged version, you will be amazed at the power and performance. The fuel consumption is just about the same too! Happy motoring.
