 Another XJR
« Thread Started on Oct 29, 2009, 3:17pm »

Well, I have swapped the 4.2 SE for an XJR. ;D
After my last 4.2 XJR I bought a Chevy Z28 Camaro and a V70 Volvo, so there was no real comparison.
However, having had my Jag 4.2 SE for 19 months then going straight to my latest XJR I can compare the two cars with some confidence.
My first thoughts are that the two cars have a totally different feel about them.
The XJR feels more responsive and stable and naturally, it's a lot quicker. Fuel is around the same to within a couple of MPG.
The R has more toys too like heated seats, heated screen, TV, phone and Jaguar voice, very clever I must say.
The other nice surprise was that it exceeds the 155MPH limiter. I had it to165MPH the other day and it was still pulling strong. I was over the other side of the Channel by the way.
I had Stratstones swap my new alloys, grille, performance exhaust and private plate over to the R so being the same colour it looks like the old car. Certainly fooled the missus for a while until she spotted the boot badge. She loves it by the way.
As for me, I'm so glad to be back in an XJR. It's the best car I have ever owned and a smile a minute. 8-)

Watch out for those new speed cameras (truspecs??) that they are testing that look like lampposts (on the other side of the channel in France only at the moment) ;)
Enjoy!!! ;D

No cooled seats Buck, but a real cool car.

Should've just said you'd bought a new badge... (unless you have a joint bank account - expensive badge!).
