 Jaguar Carpet Boot Mat
« Thread Started on Mar 8, 2009, 11:41am »

Hi,

Has anyone got the Jaguar carpet boot mat?, if so any chance of a picture, as the one in the accessory brochure is a generic one of a corner, and I cannot see how much of the boot it actually covers.

Thanks
Mark.

Do you mean the plastic boot liner?

These cover the whole boot making it invulnerable to water spills (in theory) but also make gaining access to the spare a bit of a chore.

I've not looked at the latest accessory brochure, so I apologise if this isn't what you mean.

Thanks Pete, however it is the carpet one I am interested in. I am hoping that the carpet one covers the same floor surface area as the plastic liner, but I am a bit doubtful given the contours over the wheel arches - but the dealer doesn't appear to know.

As an aside, what is the plastic one like - my fear would be that it makes the boot look a little utilitarian, and that my things would move around on it.

Regards
Mark.

I've only seen the plastic liner at Stoneleigh Spares Day (March 29th - incidently) and it did seem to be well made. Though I too shared your concerns about its practicality.

Stoneleigh may well be the place to try and find one of these (carpet version - I Mean) as all the major accessory dealers have large stalls there, as well as lots of smaller dealers who always seem to have unlikely things that make you think 'how did they get those?'. For instance, over the years I've bought spare chrome rimmed rear lights, spare headlight protectors, a full workshop manual in ring-binder format - presumably dealer issue and all manner of gizmos you just wouldn't see anywhere else.

Good luck.

The accessories On Line show a boot liner which seems rigid at £88 and a boot carpet at £103. I think the latter is the most practical.

Checkout Ebay item no 120427052499 . It has a rubber outer liner to cover the whole boot area with a carpeted center area which prevents items from sliding around when placed there. I found it excellent and only costs around £30.00 plus postage from the supplier. Good luck

Hmm http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...._fvi%3D1&_rdc=1 looks too good to be true for me.

I paid almost as much for two piddly straps to secure my brolly!

I'm not going to be first this time - over to you guys (& gals).

147manor,

Do you have a picture of it in Situ you can share please?

Pete - I too have the brolly straps - about £18, although I have ended up with 2 brolly's in the boot. One to use that is loose in the boot, and the one in the straps which is now only for show as it is a PITA to remove the brolly when the rain is tipping down, so in reality it cost me about £40 - £22 for the second brolly - LOL!!

Cheers
Mark.
